This October, our sermon series asks us to look at how God has welcomed us in. Before we ever knew about faith or grace, we were offered grace. God made room for us, has been generous with us, and has given us hope; and then God asks us to offer the same gifts to others. That is what stewardship is all about: not what we owe, but what we have been given. We'll look at how God has been generous with us, and ask what it means to tend that gift and pass it on, so the same welcome, the same grace, and the same hope reach someone who is still searching.

Hope is a powerful thing. Hope keeps us going when nothing else can. But what happens when hope seems to fail? We expected one thing, but it didn't happen. So, what now? When we find hope in Jesus, we find a hope that does not fail. Even if things change, even when life doesn't follow the plan, God is with us. Growing in faith means we set aside our expectations, and allow God to guide our lives.
