This October, our sermon series asks us to look at how God has welcomed us in. Before we ever knew about faith or grace, we were offered grace. God made room for us, has been generous with us, and has given us hope; and then God asks us to offer the same gifts to others. That is what stewardship is all about: not what we owe, but what we have been given. We'll look at how God has been generous with us, and ask what it means to tend that gift and pass it on, so the same welcome, the same grace, and the same hope reach someone who is still searching.

The Parable of the Vineyard is a story about generosity and grace. It reminds us that God offers grace equally to everyone. No one is any more or less worthy of it, and no one earns more or less of it. Part of coming to believe means we receive God's grace that is freely given. And part of coming to believe means we help others find in Jesus the grace they need, just like we found it.
