There are certain phrases we all like to hear. Top of the list are: “I love you,” “I forgive you,” and “Let's eat.” Anyone would be happy to hear those words. Think about those phrases, and it seems like they also are a good way to explain the Gospel. God loves you. God forgives you. Let's eat. In Christ, God expresses sacrificial and unconditional love for us. In Christ, God forgives sinners of every kind. And in Christ, God welcomes us all to a feast where everyone who wants to come has a place at the table. During this series, we will look at how the love, grace, and mercy of God offers us a home where we can hear these words spoken to us, and know that God means it.

Whenever you hear someone shout “Dinner’s ready!”, it is usually followed by a mad dash to the table. Everyone loves to hear those words. God says the same thing to us - if in a different way. The Bible talks about a feast God will host. And because God set the guest list, everyone is invited, saints and sinners alike. Yet, an invitation still needs an answer. Everyone is invited. Everyone is welcome at God’s Table. Will you show up?
