What to Expect

Visiting a new church can make some people nervous because they just have no idea what it’s going to be like. We know that you may have several questions about what to expect when visiting First Church, so we’ve tried to answer some of those potential questions below. Of course, if you have a question that we haven’t answered here, you can fill out the contact form at the bottom of this page, and we’ll get back with you promptly.

Take a look at these Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to get a better glimpse of a Sunday morning.

FAQ'S

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER THE SERVICE?

When you arrive at our church, you should expect to be greeted warmly. Once the service starts, we sing worshipful music and participate in worship with a printed bulletin that explains what happens next. Our worship service lasts around an hour. When the service is over, our folks are so friendly that they’ve been known to stick around and talk in the Gathering Space for a while. That’s a great time to get to know people!

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

At First Church, we try to be more concerned with the heart than with the outward appearance. Some men wear a coat and tie and some ladies wear dresses, while others wear blue jeans. Some people wear dress shoes, and others wear boots or tennis shoes. In short, feel free to dress however you feel comfortable!

WHAT'S AVAILABLE FOR MY KIDS?

At First Church we know that your children are your priority, and we want you to know that they are our priority as well!  Our kids program is available every Sunday during the 9am service and offers something for children from age 3 through high school.

WILL I BE EXPECTED TO GIVE?

Guests are welcome to give to help support the mission of our church, but you are by no means required or expected to give. You’re our guest and simply having you join us is your gift to us. If you believe on church is a good match for you to grow in your relationship with God, one of the pastors can help you learn more about giving at First Church.

We probably haven't answered everything, so if you have any other questions at all, please feel free to contact us.
